I didn’t realize how much last week took out of me, until Monday.

I actually skipped my 7-mile workout!

I felt so mentally and physically exhausted. As much as I wanted to go out for my run, I just didn’t have the energy. Skipping my run made me feel so incredibly guilty, but I was able to let that go and just relax. Everyone needs a break every now and then, right?

Turning on a new page this week, I decided to treat myself to a run outside of my hometown (where I normally run around). I ran by the water to get a breath of fresh air with my rested fresh legs! 😀 It was beautiful today.

There is nothing like running by the water.

The only thing I don’t like about running this route along the San Diego bay is the fishy smell that makes me gag when I run past the seafood restaurants by the piers. 😛

When I finished my run I also saw some very beautiful flowers…

After my run, I headed home, sat in traffic, and then made some dinner. On the menu for dinner tonight was stuffed acorn squash.

I baked the squash, and filled it with cooked arugula, kidney beans, wild rice, and diced onion that I tossed with a tahini/garlic/lemon dressing I whipped up. MMM!

This week is National Eating Disorder Awareness Week.

Eating disorders are a very serious issue that affects 10 million people in the world. According to the NEDA website, 80% of American women are dissatisfied with their appearance. I fully support every movement that supports to change this statistic. I struggled with my appearance growing up, and I have struggled with an eating disorder in my past. I understand how serious the illness is and how painful it is for women who face it today. I don’t think any person should ever look at themselves in a negative way.

In the spirit of the week, I’d like to share a part of myself that I am greatly thankful for and inspired by; I’d like to dedicate this week to my legs!

They are so strong and they work hard all day long!

They help me get to the places I want to go. Whether I go fast or take it slow.

They help me find balance in this crazy world we all live in.

I’m so thankful that I have been blessed with my two legs!

What part of your body are you dedicating this week to?

It is so difficult to dedicate just one part of your body, they are all so useful! But I guess I will dedicate this week to my hands, those things that allow me to do everything that I need to do food, and everything, related. Even to type out this comment!
